OK, so it's north of Escondido, but for something a bit different, it may be worth the drive. Learn to be a trapeze artist. It's said to be a great way to get in shape and the teacher, David Ayers, gets really high marks.

The famous Camp Pendleton Mud Run is sold out again for all three dates in June, the 9th, 10th and 16th. I thought the higher $50 price might slow down signups but I guess not.
