What's up with the Lake Calavera Trails Masterplan?  Question  Help SportsBud

Is there online information about the Lake Calavera Trails Masterplan?

Are we finally going to get more trails?

Double Peak Park Open

Nearby in San Marcos, Double Tree park provides great view of the surrounding area from its elevation of 1,644 feet.

You can reach the part by car at 900 Double Peak Road or by hiking up a trail.

The park was largely paid for by San Elijo Hills Development

Carlsbad has been somewhat slow in implementing citizen mandate for more trails, particularly ones for serious hikers but with steep elevations and many options, the nearby trails make Double Peak Park a nice reward for a steep climb.

Be careful for rattle snakes and, perhaps a mountain lion.

Pay per use parking coming to Tamarack Beach

I see a permit sign posted near the entrance to the Tamarack parking lot at the state beach. It appears there will be an installation of some time of device to collect payment in order to enter the lot. It's been free, right?

Surfer dudes might not bee too happy to pay for an hour of morning surfing.
