Tri-City Wellness Center  Question  Help SportsBud

Tri-City seems staged to open its Wellness Center in early 2009. A newsletter says the sales office is open. The website, as usual, with fitness facilities, doesn't provide pricing information.

Anybud know what it costs to join and the monthly dues?

Dr. James Davies - Local cataract specialist

Dr. James Davies, MD a Carlsbad ophthalmologist , has his own surgical center on Laguna St just north of the village. A friend of mine investigated several alternative cataract surgeons before choosing Dr. Davies. The surgery was successful and my friend was very pleased with both the results and the quality of information received in the process of investigating options.

An article about Dr. Davies appears in Today's Local News on April 10, 2008. The article indicated that Dr. Davies was an early user of Cyrstalens, an lens product used in cataract surgery with the unique benefit of giving the patient automatic focus over a wide range instead of just distance. Typical products require the patient to wear glasses for close vision.

Dr. Davies donated his services to provide Crystalens to a person unable to afford the product. The lens was donated by Bausch and Lomb, manufacturer of Crystalens.

George Bradford - Optometrist

I've heard good things about George Bradford, an optometrist with Visionworks Optometrix. It's located on the lower level of the Westfield Camino Plaza mall close to the main Macy's store on the north side.

Built it and they will come - Doctors?

Either people of done some research and figured out that many medical professionals are anxious to move to the village or some recent investments are in big trouble.

The two year old medical building on the west side of Jefferson just north of Grand seems almost entirely empty.

The new medical village condos on Carlsbad Village Drive east of I-5 have a lot of capacity in search of buyers, occupants.

Is it realistic to expect many new medical practices in the village area? How will this space get filled?

Good doctor in the village?  Question  Help Harvey

Any Bud have a good doctor to suggest in the village area? With all the flu going around, maybe someone has some recent experience and a suggestion to offer.

Carlsbad Medical Village - Who's going to buy?

I see the new Carlsbad Medical Village at 1281-1299 Carlsbad Village Drive, east of I-5. It's a nice location for me as I live in the village area but I wonder what medical practices are going to locate there. Is there enough demand? Who can afford to buy?

The complex didn't snap up the logical domain name but see information on the real estate aspect of the buildings at Real Estate Information On Carlsbad Medical Village

HeartSaver

Heartsaver is a new personal product you may want to consider for yourself or someone you care about. It's a tiny stainless steel vault that encloses two aspirin used at the first symptoms of a heart attack. Medical evidence suggests that if aspirin is taken at the first signs of a heart attack the chance of a fatality can be reduced by 25-50%.
